Remote Learning
Learning online at home
As a school, we use a number of online tools that help us to teach children at home. We use these primarily for homework but they can also be used in circumstances that require children to be at home; such as when isolating due to COVID class bubble closures.
This page will provide parents and pupils with the information they need to access work at home.
Online Tools
Key Stage One - Seesaw
If you're child is in Nursery, Reception, Year One or Year Two they will use Seesaw to access work set by their Class Teacher. You can access Seesaw via a desktop computer, tablet or mobile device. It is very easy to use and will allow pupils to interact with their teacher and receive feedback on completed tasks.
In order to initially register for Seesaw, you will require a unique registration code. Please speak to your child's teacher to obtain this code and registration instructions.

Key Stage Two - Google Classroom
If you're child is in Year 3, 4, 5 or 6 they will use Google Classroom to access work set by their Class Teacher. Pupils can access Seesaw via a desktop computer, tablet or mobile device. It is very much a virtual classroom which will allow pupils to interact with each other and their class teacher. They will be able to submit a range of learning tasks and receive marked feedback from teachers. Teachers also have the opportunity to arrange virtual meet-ups via video calls to check in with their classes from home.
Pupils will use their school email address and password to login to Google Classroom. All pupils in these year groups will use these details during the school day and will be very used to login into the Google Platform. If you require password reminders etc, please contact your child's Class Teacher.

Our Student Intranet
Everything you need in one place
Our bespoke Student intranet provides a number of additional learning resources for pupils and provides pupils with quick links to their relevant home-learning tools. Pupils often use the Student Intranet during the school day and are taught where to access relevant information.

Class Closures
Expectations
If your child is sent home to isolate as a result of a class bubble closure, we will ensure that online learning is available to your child by the next working day. In line with Department for Education guidelines, this will include 3-hours of varied learning for each day in isolation.
Your child will be expected to engage with this learning and we are asking parents to support us with this by ensuring that they set out a daily routine for their children to access work. Both SeeSaw and Google Classroom will be monitored by your child's teacher and they will be able to see who has accessed the systems and when. They will contact you if your child does not appear to be accessing learning and discuss ways in which we can support you with this.
Teachers will feedback to pupils on completed work via the SeeSaw or Google Classroom online platforms and assess their learning needs as they normally would do in our physical classroom environment.
Access to Devices
Your child will need a device in order to access this work via Google Classroom or SeeSaw (see guides above) and any laptop will be sufficient. If you do not have a device at home, please contact the school office and we will arrange for Chromebook to be made available for your child.
Additional Needs
Our SENCO and Pastoral Support team will continue to support children on their caseloads throughout their isolation. Please contact the school office if you are struggling or need advice.
