Our Policies
At The Gateway Trust, our policy framework is designed to ensure consistency, excellence, and compliance at all levels of our organisation. We have established a three-tier policy structure that caters to the diverse needs of our trust, individual phases, and schools.
All our policies are available to download in PDF format. If you require a paper copy please ring the school office and we will be happy to provide one. Our Whistleblowing policies are shared with staff on our policy storage through National College.
Trust-Wide Policies (The Gateway Trust - Our Policies<https://www.gatewaytrust.org/our-trust/our-policies>)
Central to All: Trust Policies are developed by our central team and apply uniformly across all schools within the Gateway Trust.
Scope: These policies cover overarching areas such as governance, finance, human resources, and health and safety, ensuring a consistent approach in key operational areas.
Implementation: Being Trust-wide, these policies provide a foundational framework that guides all our schools.
Phase-Wide Policies (The Gateway Trust - Our Policies<https://www.gatewaytrust.org/our-trust/our-policies>)
Tailored by Educational Phase: Phase Policies are specific to either primary or secondary schools within our Trust.
Development Process: These policies are formulated by the primary and secondary executive leaders, in close consultation with respective headteachers. This collaborative approach ensures that the policies are relevant and effective for each educational stage.
Approval: After formulation, these policies are reviewed and approved by our trustees to ensure alignment with our Trust’s standards and objectives.
School-Specific Policies (The Gateway Trust - Cottage Grove Primary School<https://www.gatewaytrust.org/our-trust/documentation/cottage-grove-primary-school>)
Unique to Each School: School Policies are specific to individual schools, allowing them to address unique aspects of their community and operational environment.
Local Leadership: These policies are set by the school’s headteacher, who best understands the specific needs and context of their school.
Governance: The local governing boards play a crucial role in approving these policies, ensuring that they meet the local needs whilst remaining consistent with the broader goals of the Trust.
