Science

Overview

In a world that is always changing as we learn and develop new technologies, science is crucial in helping us to understand the world around us. Without it, we would not live how we do today. Science is about inspiring awe and wonder, of looking at the unknown and trying to make sense of it. It is a way of making the brain grow by finding new knowledge and helping us challenge what we know about the world.

The science taught at Cottage Grove Primary School aims to teach pupils how to think, learn, solve problems and draw conclusions based on their learning. These skills are vital in every aspect of the curriculum and beyond. We aim to deliver science in the school in line with the science National Curriculum as well as make links to other areas such as English or maths. We also hold a yearly Science Week when we aim to celebrate science through fun and engaging activities which culminates in a Science Fair where we can share our learning with the community.
